Professional Experience Program started in April 2022!

We launched our Professional Experience Program (PEP) in April! Our 8 OWL students arrived in New York and participated in a one-week skills seminar at the German American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and have started their internships in a company or organization in the New York metropolitan area. PEP is designed to empower OWL students to develop their professional skills in an international context and to obtain hands-on work experience in the United States. The 2022 cohort was chosen in a competitive selection process and the participating students represent a wide range of academic backgrounds, such as Computer Science; Philosophy; Electrical Engineering; American Literature & Cultural Studies; Computer Engineering; Integrated Façade Design; Sound Engineering (Tonmeister); History, Economics & Philosophy of Science.

Have a look at our PEP 2022 Brochure_Campus OWL NY to learn more about the program, the agenda for the skills seminar and see the short bios of our 2022 cohort.

We would like to thank all the speakers for sharing invaluable insights and for interacting with the students in such a meaningful way during the skills seminar week. We covered topics such as how to develop and present your professional brand and how to use your professional network; design thinking; intercultural orientation; transatlantic relations; bias as well as diversity and inclusion in the workplace; international context and the startup scene in New York. We would like to wish our students an enriching experience during their internship in the NY metropolitan area.

We are looking forward to launching the PEP23 call for application in June 2022.
