Are you interested in studying abroad or gaining international work experience?
Highly motivated OWL students have a chance to be part of a unique experience in New York. They can pursue an internship either in the Campus OWL liaison office or as part of the newly launched Professional Experience Program (PEP). North American students have the opportunity to study abroad at one of the five universities of Campus OWL.
The Campus OWL universities have a wide range of study programs and hands-on and real-world opportunities for students from abroad. The following overview includes short-term summer courses and direct exchange as well as a brief overview of the Alberta OWL cooperation.
OWL students find more information on the internship opportunities either in the liaison office or via the PEP program below.

The Campus OWL liaison office offers 3-month internships for students, studying at one of the OWL universities. The call for the virtual internship is now closed.
Universities in OWL and in Edmonton work together to exchange and develop knowledge. The focus of the cooperation is on interdisciplinary collaboration in research, as well as the exchange of students and trainees. Multilateral relations between all partners involved are intended to supplement, combine, and expand the strengths of both regions.
The exchange goes both ways. Students from the OWL universities can study in Edmonton and students from the University of Alberta, the MacEwan University, the Concordia University of Edmonton, or the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology can study, pursue internships or participate in a summer program in OWL.
In 2020 Campus OWL launched the We CAN VirtuOWL project focusing on digital, collaborative teaching and learning formats. This project was selected to receive funding by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The funding is provided through the „International Virtual Academic Collaboration (IVAC)“ program that was initiated by the DAAD and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). It promotes virtual exchange and digital teaching and learning opportunities for international university partnerships until September 2021.
Each year hundreds of international students come to the Campus OWL universities from partner universities around the world. Studying abroad for a semester is a great experience from which you benefit in many ways, both personally and professionally.
Direct exchange students must be nominated by one of the partner universities. The first step is therefore to apply for an exchange place in the international office at your home university. After successful nomination you will be contacted by the OWL partner university.
