Alberta OWL Cooperation

Universities in OWL and in Edmonton, Canada work together to exchange and develop knowledge. The focus of the cooperation is on the exchange of students and on interdisciplinary collaboration in research. Multilateral relations between all partners involved are intended to supplement, combine, and expand the strengths of both regions.

The exchange goes both ways. Students from the OWL universities can study in Edmonton and students from the University of Alberta, the MacEwan University, the Concordia University of Edmonton, or the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology can study, pursue internships or participate in a summer program in OWL.

In 2020 Campus OWL launched the We CAN VirtuOWL project focusing on digital, collaborative teaching and learning formats. This project was selected to receive funding by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The funding was provided through the „International Virtual Academic Collaboration (IVAC)“ program that was initiated by the DAAD and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The Alberta OWL institutions work together to promote virtual exchange and digital teaching and learning opportunities.

Exchange

Each year hundreds of international students come to the Campus OWL universities from partner universities around the world. Studying abroad for a semester is a great experience from which you benefit in many ways, both personally and professionally.

Direct exchange students must be nominated by one of the partner universities. The first step is therefore to apply for an exchange place in the international office at your home university. After successful nomination you will be contacted by the OWL partner university.
